Crispy Beef Terriaki & Vegetables

Gadgets and cooking needs: Boiling Pan, Frying Pan, 2 stirring spoons
Ingredients:
  • 2 pieces of Milanese per person, If adding more vegetables than beef 1 is fine
  • Sauce: Teriyaki Sauce, I use Kikkoman Teriyaki Sauce, 1 cup per serving (person)
  • Your choice of vegetables, I used 1/2 head Broccoli, and 8 Baby carrots, washed and cut
  • Onions 3/4 or 1/2 cup chopped or sliced, washed
  • Olive Oil 2tbs.
Directions: Put a pot of water to boil for the vegetables and add to the boiling water on high flames. if you haven't already, start cutting your onions if any and put aside. You still want the veggies crispy so no longer than 10 minutes and drain. Set aside.

This dish is very simple to do, no need to marinate the meat. If you layer the meat, then roll them together, you can cut them all at once. Simply wash before rolling like a burrito, and cut into thin strips, then cutting the rolled strips in 1/2.  Meat will take about 10 minutes to cook as well. Set the frying pan to heat on Med.High add Olive Oil, check the oil with the onions if you like to ensure the oil is ready. Transfer meat and sautĂ© for 5min., continuously turning until all it's juices have been sucked back into the meat, no need to drain the juices. Add the onions and marry the flavors together, still stirring and now browning the meat and Onions into a toasty texture; as shown in the example above.   Lower the flames to Med.Low and add the Teriyaki Sauce and then the vegetables, marrying all of the flavors together, and combining the sauce evenly. Cover so that the sauce does not evaporate quickly and serve when ready. This particular meat is low in fat and not usually served in Oriental restaurants so you might be disappointed if you try to find this recipe. Enjoy!

Everyone knows the saying, "the way to a man heart is his stomach." Well, my fiancé told me he had a dream about this particular dish I made him,(among others)...giggle; So this is definitely going to be our dinner for Valentines Day tomorrow. O.K. so beef is not in my metabolic foods list, however I always pile on the vegetables to make up for this fact, and keep my metabolism on high. This is also a great dish for people trying to transition into eating as little red meat as possible, or for those that are scared about leaving red meat raw, because this meat "Milanese" is very thin and is easily cooked thoroughly. You can add almost any type of vegetable and it will still taste great. Here it is with Baby carrots, Broccoli, and Onions, served w/ White Rice. Some additions are Collie-flour, green peas, peppers, and even spinach.
