Healthier Snack Alternatives are surprisingly tasty and good for you too!

Energizing Foods- You can get metabolism-boosting caffeine in coffee and black tea! As if you needed another reason to love your coffee. Just be careful not to load them up with milk, cream or sugar. Green Tea doesn't have that much caffeine but does contain catechins (an anti-oxidant that raises resting metabolism by 4%-about 80 calories per day) Dark chocolate contains both catechins and caffeine, but stick to 1 oz. per day to limit fat and calories.

Avoid: There are some foods that you might be chewing on right now that you probably didn't know will be stored as extra fat, even if you didn't overeat. According to "Prevention" consultants, "refined and Sugary foods take ZERO calories to digest (making it possible to be stored as fat immediatly.) Check packaged foods for added sugar that goes by other names most ending with -OSE. Fructose, Maltose, and sucrose, and really try to reduce them from your diet".
