Grilled cheese & Salsalito Turkey Sandwich

Gadgets and cooking needs:
Sauce pan, Oven for baking fries (read instructions on frozen Potato package usually 35 min. cooking time so start this first)

Ingredients: Serves one
  • 2 slices of Bread- From a Gluten Free, or Multi-grain Loaf preferred
  • 2 tbs. Butter - I can't Believe it's not Butter is chosen over any other brand
  • 5 thin slices Salsalito Turkey -  a mildly spicy marinated turkey you can find at your local deli counter
  • 3 slices of Reduced fat Cheese - ( your choice) here I chose Kraft cheddar
  • 1/4 cup Chipolte dipping Sauce- ( your choice of brand) I used  a container from "Marketplace"
Instructions:
Prepare the sandwich before you melt the butter in the pan. No need for mayo or butter on the bread, as the cheese will melt and become oily. Layer the cheeses on each side of each bread, and salsalito turkey as desired.
Heat a frying pan to med. low heat (#5 setting on some stovetops) and melt 1tbs. of "I can't beleive it's not butter", but do not let it brown.
Place sandwich in pan and allow the cheese to melt turning on each side after 2 minutes. Allow for the bread to toast on each side and add the remainder of the butter if necessary. Serve with baked fries and Chipolte dipping sauce. Slice into mini- triangles for your dipping pleasure.

Grilled Cheese and Salsalito Turkey Sandwich (w/ Chipolte Sauce and Baked Fries)

Whether for the park, the beach, or chilling at home, this sandwich will be a guilt-free metabolic burning treat. Skip the boring ketchup for some Chipolte sauce (from "Marketside"), pick a whole wheat or Gluten Free bread, a reduced fat cheese or two, and bake the fries instead of deep frying to complete the reduced fat meal. Enjoy!
