Breyers Limited Edition Apple Pie Crunch Ice Cream with Homemade Candy Apples

Healthy dose of sweet goodness

You will need: ice scream scooper, ice cream bowls/
baking pan or cookie sheets wax paper for candy apples
Ingredients: Limited Edition Breyers Apple Pie Crunch Ice Cream (3 scoops)
  • Candy apple mixture in a box (comes with sticks) available in your local supermarket
  • Desired amount of red apples
  • Ground Nutmeg and or Cinnamon
  • Whipped cream (optional)
  • Honey drizzle over whipped cream (optional)

Candy Apples: Prepare Candy mixture as instructed on the back of the box, use only 1/2 of the measurements for a few apples (the entire box for a bushel of apples)

Tips: Use the directed amount of Sugar in your adjusted measurements and not any less, the sugar is what helps it get hard, use a spoon to help with the dipping since these apples are large

Once the candy apple has hardened, slice one up for each ice cream bowl, add dashes of cinnamon and or nutmeg to taste. Add 3 or more scoops of Breyers Apple Pie ice cream, and topping optional.
Now your ready to dive in!

I was very surprised to see the ice cream aisles needed to be re-stocked even in this time of year...brrrrrrrr. So I decided, why not, and created a Festive theme ice cream bowl. "Cool" idea for a Holiday or New Years Eve dessert. Candy Apples take all day to get hard (as far as I have experienced) so try to prepare this in the morning or the night before. You can add some fruity varieties such as your favorite preserves. Some whipped cream drizzled in honey also compliments this dessert. Definitely looks healthy with a nice dose of fruit and feels a bit romantic too!
