Slow Cooked Chuck Round Beef w/ Gravy

Gadgets and cooking needs: Slow Cooker
Ingredients: Serves 2
  • Chuck Round Beef- Marinate for at least one hour in 1/2 lemon squeeze and Garlic for 2 small cut pieces
  • 1/2 Lemon- natural lemon squeeze used for marinating
  • Garlic- grounded, 8  cloves (use 3 for marinating)
  • Red cooking Wine- 1 cup
  • 3 small or 1 large Tomatoes- Diced into small pieces
  • Optional- Au Jus Gravy or Beef Gravy for serving

Turn on your slow-cooker and set it for four hours on high temperature.
After you have marinated the Beef and trimmed the fat off, smother the beef with the rest of the garlic and place it in the slow-cooker. Add the tomatoes, and the Red-cooking wine, cover it and allow it to cook for the time allowed. This is how you get beef that melts in your mouth and that you can eat without using a knife. What's great about this way of cooking Chuck Beef this way, is that you can set it and forget it until it's ready, and it's a very versatile meal. Enjoy it with your favorite gravy !

Slow-cooked Chuck Round beef with tomatoes

This meal is the third entry for "sending away the winter" series. Also, steak and potatoes might be the last thing you think about when you think of that four letter word "diet." However, when you learn about the difference between Fast carbohydrates and Slow carbohydrates, it will change the way you look at food and the way you eat. I prepared it with tomatoes so you can have a nice serving of a bright vegetable, also I served mashed potatoes on the side but, you can always change your meal to include salads and green vegetables, even making them the center of the show by doubling the portions.
